Started in 2008 by Laurence Lafforgue, ArtWeLove began as an attempt to connect artists and their audiences, and help art enthusiasts discover and participate in the art market.

In 2009, it pioneered a learning community that harnessed the power of big data and social media to provide art recommendations based on the art that users loved. The platform indexed important artworks, artists and art forms, letting casual art lovers and savvy collectors alike make art discoveries based on their personal tastes and those of their friends.

In 2010, ArtWeLove opened an experimental print shop focused on reinventing the art production model. The goal was to allow art enthusiasts and collectors to acquire directly online museum-quality art prints at very affordable prices, thus removing the inherent frictions experienced in the traditional art market -- mostly lack of access and intimidating entry prices.

For three years, the shop produced exclusive, museum-quality affordable art editions in collaboration with the some of the most inspiring international artists, including Mark Dion, Francesca Gabbiani, Molly Dilworth, Jorge Otero-Pailos, Midori Harima, Stephane Couturier, Ambroise Tezenas, Miya Ando, Quentin Curry, Shelter Serra, Madeleine Paternot, and Tomoo Gokita.

The project gathered press accolades from art world insiders (Art In America, ArtNet) as well as broader cultural media outlets (The Observer, Huffington Post,  InStyle.) ArtWeLove was even featured on the Nate Berkus Show in January 2011 and distributed at the Gagosian Shop on Madison Avenue, NY. The shop delivered thousands of prints to hundreds of collectors.

We thank all the amazing artists who participated in this project, collectors and partners who have been instrumental in making this adventure a reality, and especially team members Jonathan Vanasco, Mariya Hoskins, Andrew Goldstein, and Adam Snyder for sharing their passion and talent.  We like to think that ArtWeLove played a part in pioneering new art business models, and more importantly, in building thriving artistic careers and a new generation of stewards for art .

See what the artists we love are up to now.
